Why We Got A Date Box
I decided before Cory leaves in a few months that I would try out a subscription date box. He sometimes has a hard time coming up with things to do for our date nights. He isn’t really from around here and is terrible with google haha. I had seen the advertisements for this particular date box on facebook and read some of the reviews online and decided this would be the one we did.
I went ahead and got the three month plan since I know for sure he will be here that long. We also would have time during those months to actually spend the time doing the dates. Honestly, I was super excited but I think it was mostly because I am obsessed with subscription boxes. I love the surprise that comes along with them. This month since it is December they sent us a holiday themed box.
What Comes With Date Box
Each box comes with some snacks, a spotify playlist, an activity to do together, and conversation starters. I love holiday music so I was all about this special play list during this date! The snacks for this box were peppermint Oreo truffles. I mean come on who doesn’t love Oreo truffles! Since pumpkin spice season is over I am definitely all about minter!
They included everything in the box except for the cream cheese since that is an item you would need to have fresh. They also threw in a recipe for tipsy egg nog. I will be completely honest I have never liked egg nog. I am not a big milk fan so egg nog fell into that category for me, but this egg nog was actually really good. We could barely taste the milk it was mostly just sweet with the kick of the bourbon in the background.

Our First Date Box Experience
So, we started out our night preparing those treats. While we waited for the truffles to cool we went ahead and moved on to the activity. This month they sent us some clear plastic ornaments to decorate with each other. The box included some paint pens, glitter, glue, and ribbon. Let me just tell you, I was really hoping Cory wouldn’t want to use the glitter. Boy was I wrong and that stuff was all over the place. I will be finding glitter on the floor for days!
Anyways, the idea with these ornaments was you decorated them and then you wrote each other a little message. You placed the note inside and next year you would read them. We were really excited about this because we know next year we will not be able to be together for the holidays. It will be something nice for us to have!
After we made the ornaments we played the Pictionary game that was also included. Date box gave us a box of cards that had Christmas songs on them and we would have to draw them out for our partner to guess the song. I felt like the idea was good, but it is really hard to draw out some of those songs in the minute time limit they give you.
Our Review Of Date Box
We still had fun we just got a little frustrated because we had such a hard time thinking of what to draw. To end the date they suggested a few Christmas movies to watch and enjoy our snacks. We decided to watch Elf because who doesn’t love such a classic movie! All in all I think this was extremely well thought out and we had a really good time with it. We are looking forward to seeing what we get for January!
